The award is given to the lodging establishment for having obtained systematically good and excellent guest comments and posted on TripAdvisor. The recipients can be hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourist attractions and others anywhere in the world that have provided its customers outstanding service on a continuous basis.

To select the winners of this award, TripAdvisor utilizes its own algorithm that evaluates among other criteria the quality, the quantity and age of the opinions shared by travelers on TripAdvisor during a twelve-month period, as well as the constant presence and the popularity index of the establishment on the website. In order to receive this award, tourist businesses, must achieve and maintain a general score of at least four and a half out of five “bubbles” on TripAdvisor, as well as have a minimum number of comments and have been featured on TripAdvisor for at least twelve months.

Inducted into ‘Hall of Fame’ of Five-time Certificate of Excellence Winners on the World’s Largest Travel Site

Isla Navidad, Colima 8 of August, 2016 – The Grand Isla Navidad Resort (previously the Grand Bay Hotel) announced today that it has been recognized as a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame winner. The Certificate of Excellence award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve great traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. The ‘Hall of Fame’ was created to honor those businesses that have earned a Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years. Winners include hotels/resorts, eateries, and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered a superior customer experience.

When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honorees that take into account the quality, quantity, and timeline of reviews and opinions submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period, as well as the business’s tenure and ranking on the Popularity Index on the site.
