The Pacific Ocean is world-renowned for big-game fishing and its fishing tournaments. Barra de Navidad, the fishing village, is often referred to as "the privileged location on the natural corridor for sail-fish migration".
Sailfish and tuna are found all year round. Mahi-mahi is more seasonal from October through April. Both blue and black marlin, tarpon, and snook roam in the area's blue water twelve months a year.
